Hi One & All
I Have been working on a project that uses serial port to communicate with an ECU fitted in a commercial vehicle to control LPG. I was hopeing to adapt/write a program to work from my x30 to save the need of lugging a laptop charger leads ect in & out of the cab all the time. Problem cant find correct hard/soft ware to do it. Laptop can use Hyperterminal and I wrote a program in VB6 that works great. I have looked at VB.net , JAVA but have found no cheap solutions. I have got a hardwired serial lead for the X30 works ok on a modem. Any Idears Challeges from any one would be great

sirdoalot,
Help me out a little, what is a ECU and LPG? I know the axims do not use an RS-232 port. It has a serial port that uses TTL signal levels. The port is typically used to listen for data like comes from a GPS. To initiate a serial conversation from the axim you must do something in an eletrical circuit to turn on the serial port. When you plug into a cradle the PC initiates the conversation. Do a search on this site for serial communication and I am sure you can find information that explains it better than I can. Good Luck, dooroo62

Found TTY.EXE and it WORKS
Hi again
In case anyone is looking for the same Hypertermial software as me. Check out Ttl.exe at http://www.bisque.com/ put TTL.EXE in search you will have to sign up but its free. I have tried Ttl out on my ECU and it worked first time no problems. I was using the serial lead from SERIALIO with no mods to the lead. Another program is vxHpc from cambridge computer corporation have't tried it but has good reports from bevhoward.com along with some usfull information on serial stuff. vxHpc is a 30 days evaluation with a 30$ licence free. MY THANKS TO dooroo62 for steering me in that direction. All I need now is to Live Read/Write to my device any help would be worthy
