Running Programs/Process Limit

I noticed that once I have 8 or so programs running in the background, that the next program I open unloads the first program in the queue. There seems to be a limit of 8 programs running in memory. Is there any way (maybe in the Registry) to increase this limit? I have lots of program space available still.

You should keep as few programs open as possible, as they each take up part of your ram and will cause your device to slow.
