Axim X50 QVGA: Can't upgrade from A03 to A05

Hi,

I have ROM A03 and am trying to upgrade to A05.
I'm connected to my desktop via the sync cable.
I've performed 2 ROM upgrades in the same manner without any problems, but this time I receive the followng error:
"the procedure cannot proceed due to the following reason: the AC adapter is not connected".

I've downloaded the upgrade file twice, no luck.

I've also done a SR to my Dell and a restart to my desktop.

I'd appreciate your help.

Thank you.

No, I'm connected to my desktop via the sync cable.
I've upgraded the ROM in the past twice using the cable without any problems.
My cradle is not here at the moment, I'll be able to get it only on Sunday.

Why are you making the upgrade? Is something wrong with the revision you're running?

I used to do that - upgrade every time they came out with a new version. Got bit when I tried to go from A02 to A03 (on my "mid"). Decided right then that if there ain't anything wrong with it - to leave it alone!

I'll just drive the wheels off this one - so to speak. I'm getting tired of "tweaking" ... the thing just plain WORKS!

It's that I'm having problems with my Navigation software

I use Destinator PN with a Holux GR-231. every now and then, with increasing frequency, the software goes amok.
The Holux is quite new, less than a year old, and the software is installed correctly.
I see several possibilities:
A) something wrong/corrupted with my OS/BT stack.
B) something wrong with my GPS.
C) different installed softwares that somehow collide.

I've tried using another GPS and had no problems.
I also loaned my GPS to a friend (who also has an X50 mid, but with ROM A04) and he had no problems.
I also reinstalled the map software and recreated the link between the X50 and the GPS.
Then I used my own GPS for a while and had no problems until now (as I said, it happens irregularly)

I think it's easier to upgrade the ROM rather than buying a new GPS. I read in Dell's site that this ROM includes a better BT stack. This is why I want to upgrade.
