I upgraded to WM5 for three days. After my X50mid slowed to a crawl I just couldn't take it anymore, not to mention the horrible bluetooth stack; So, I decided to roll back to WM2003.
At first I was very please all my previous info was still there, X50 was back up to normal operating speed, everything seemed fine until today when I noticed a problem after charging to 100%. If I turn on WiFi when my battery is at 100%, I can literally watch my battery level decrease very rapidly. I'm talking about major decrease! 1% every three seconds . It finally levels off at about 86% What can be causing this?
That is odd. I rolled back last night and everything is working fine for me. I tried what you described and I am not having that happen. What programs do you have installed? Are you using SE or just plain 2003?

Well I went back to WM5! but this time without any of my old data. If you'll believe it; WM5 works alot better now! I don't have the disappearing CF card problem; and I actually set it up so I can use my axim with one hand 95% of the time! Today I just learned how to send files/contacts with bluetooth in WM5! but of course bluetooth is still crappy compared to WM2003SE : I really hope there will be an update soon. but overall I really like WM5.
Congrats on the successful WM5 update! I used it for quite a long time and then needed to go on a trip and needed it to be reliable for that week so that is why I rolled back. As soon as they update WM5 for the x50's, I am going to go back to it. I liked WM5 a lot too, but I also like how incredibly stable 2003SE A05 is :D.

if you do the roll back, it will ask you to do a hard reset, before applying the actual update. After that hard reset, it will do some other stuff, then apply the update, i think, somewhere in between, if you do another hard reset, that will solve most peoples problems. I am not sure when you do it, but i know it is sometime in there. Do a search on aximsite.

I did notice that, after the rollback, some of my setup menus, e.g. Settings-->System-->Microphone, were widened on the screen to where I could not access the buttons to get back to normal operation without a soft reset. I eventually did a hard reset and reinstalled my apps and utilities, that seemed to clear up the problem.
I suspect that not following the rollback instructions to the letter - which I'm sure I did not - resulted in a corrupted load.

well, after using WM5 for a whole month i really liked it. I loved the one hand operation that is possible in WM5. And the overall GUI. However, i really liked the bluetooth im WM2003se. So i'm back to 2003se. And WOW! i almost fotgot how fast and stable everything is!
!!WM5, I love you, but when it comes to stability , you just can't compete!!
