Tasks: can't create/lose notes

Hi,
I was hoping for some help, When I create a task on my aximx50v, I can write something in the "note" section, but I can't see anything there when I close and save the task. And any task, after I created it, I can't add/edit a note. Any help in getting this working would be great!
thanks

Welcome to Aximsite!

Are you using the built-in "Switcher Bar" program? There seems to be a bug in there that describes your problem. Your notes should come back after a soft reset. In the future, I'd suggest using another, more reliable program. There are many out there that'll do the trick, such as Magic Button or vBar to name a few.

I think Roowah was thinking task as in a program running instead of a "to do" task.

I had no problem creating a task and editing its notes via the Notes tab in the task. I just opened up the task list, tapped a task which brought up its information, then tapped Edit at the bottom-right of the screen. This will bring you to the screen where you can change the Subject, Priority, etc. If you go to the Notes tab again you can tap inside of the text and then use a keyboard (onscreen or wireless, etc) to change the text inside the notes. You then tap OK and X and you have successfully changed your notes.

If you cannot do this, then I have no idea what is wrong. Good luck.

You're right Giff! I was equating the term "task" as a program, but also referring to the original task program that comes with the PDA. :approve: I guess you can take the person out of a Comp Sci background, but the lingo still remains.

I remember having problems a long time ago with disappearing notes while using the built in tasks program. After doing some research here, I found out it was the switcher bar program that was causing the issue. Ever since I decided not to use either program and chose alternatives for each, *POOF* no more problems!

But....if I was misinterpreting the original question...drinks are on me!

I see now what you were saying , it was late last night when I posted. I wonder if it is only when the Switcher Bar is running and the Task program is in it that the problem occurs??? It works fine on mine still (2003se).

Did it work you for batorok?

Glad it worked out for you. :approve: The 2 switcher programs I mentioned earlier are both free.

Magic Button is here

vBar is here

They both have a very small file footprints. Magic Button is fancier, but some people occasionally report problems of it locking up the Axim forcing you to soft reset. The new version that's out now may have solved that problem. vBar is a good, reliable (at least for me), but no-frills program.
