What do these Microsoft files do?
Hello,
I'm new & this is my 1st post. I have an X5 with WM2003. Under my "Remove Programs" list, there are 3 Microsoft programs that I don't know what they do or why they are there. Can someone explain them to me? They are: Microsoft Activation Microsoft .NET Compact Framework Microsoft SQLCE 2.0 I would appreciate someone enlightening me. Thanks. drmars | |||

Microsoft SQLCE 2.0 is a database storage app for CE, much like SQL MSDE is the slimmed down version for Dekstops. An application that wishes to utilize SQL as opposed to Access or some other database platform would need to install this for the application to store its data. If you are not utilizing any third party applications, I have no idea why those would be installed. Microsoft activation I believe is a piece of the Microsoft Reader....
