Internet Access
I used to be able to access the internet from my Axim 5 while cradled and now that seems not to work. Could you someone give me the various ActiveSync and Axim settings? I had to install blackice for my office vpn and don't know if this upset what had worked before or not. I connect my desktop to the internet using a cable modem.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I am not familiar with BlackIce, but most personal firewall programs are similar. Look for the appropriate BI configuration option to perform the following:

First step, disable/quit BlackIce and see if the Axim can access the internet again.

If so:

Take note of the IP network address used by the Axim, it is usually in the 192.168.... ranage. ActiveSync on the PC acts as a DCHP server and gateway for the Axim.

Add the network used by the axim to BlackIce as an allowed network connection.

Also add ActiveSync to the list of programs that Black Ice will allow to act as servers.

If not:

BlackIce is probably not the issue. Try to remember exactly when the problem started, and look what else was done to your PC around that time.

Try re-installing ActiveSync.

Be sure that the Windows Firewall is not running while BlackIce is running. Two firewalls at once can have unusual results.

Hope this helps!

I am still trying! Do you have the settings I need to use to access the internet simply through the cradle? Would be appreciated. Thanks.
