You didn't say but if you are using POP3 then it
Sounds like you don't have the send server set up properly. the one called SMTP.

Yes it is POP3, I have copied the settings exactly as they are in Outlook.

I suspect there is something about SSL or some other settings in the SMTP.

Check FlyACL's post (http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?p=749030) for detailed email settings.

Typically this problem is because you don't have the box "Outgoing mail requires authentication" to be checked (on the second page of the Options from the fourth page of the account setting).

on the options page (2/3)

I have the following checked:

Require SSL connection
Outgoing mail requires authentication

I have used and not used (both with no result) the "use separate settings and have tried all alternatives under outgoing settings, including checking and not checking the Require SSL for outgoing mail).

Anyother ideas?

Thanks for the link for the help. I have all the same settings. I still get an error if I try to send something.

Don't feel bad, I've got the same problem. I know my settings are correct but I can't send to my default ISP.

I signed up for a gmail account and it works fine. Don't know why my ISP account doesn't work.

Setup sympatico email

I made sympatico email work with my x51v. Here's the way:

User name: Set to your full email address (with @sympatico.ca)
Password: Your password
Incoming mail: pophm.sympatico.ca:995
Outgoing mail: smtphm.sympatico.ca:25 (the port number is the key to make it work)
Domain: (leave it as empty)
SSL: Enabled for both incoming and outgoing

Good luck!

I have this problem with AOL. Can receive OK but cant send.

Email worked OK with WM5 but not SE2003.

I have followed all the tutorials to no avail.

Maybe AOL is using a different port for outgoing email?
