Is there any sort of a way to have the axim turn on, fire up the wireless connection, check email, and beep you if you have new email? I'd like this to run every 30 minutes and check an account that I have just for service requests.

Anybody doing anything similar?

Yes, but its annoying if your on battery. It drains your battery. If your on ac better. I think its possible. Just leave your wifi on when you turn off your ppc, then set up your mail account to connect and check every 30 minutes. The pocket pc also plays a sound when new mail is downloaded. This sound can be personalized under settings. You can even put a custiom sound in the /windows dir and use it.

I'm not worried about it draining the battery, but I wasn't aware that the PPC would turn on to check email. I thought it would check if the machine was already on. I have it set for a timeout of 5 minutes I think, and that will be okay for battery drain. I recharge it every night anyways.

Yes, it will turn itself on. Thats how my ppc went from 80% juice to 0% in less than 48hrs.
