I am looking for help and advice...

The problem started when I tried to sync and got an "!" for an unresolved item. An Excel file will not covert. It has been placed on my PC in an unconverted format (still in .pxl). When I try to open it with Excel nothing happens. When I try to open the file on my Axim, I now get a message saying it is an "invalid format". When I try to drag the file from the Axim to the PC I get a "cannot convert file message: unknown error 8000abcd."

I have other Excel files on my Ax and Pc that are unaffected.

I don't know what I did. But more importantly I don't know how to get it back.

If anyone has words of wisdom to share I would be very grateful.

Probably a bit late for you, but otehrs may find this answer.

I had the same error but the other way around - moving a large .xls from PC to PDA (Axim X5). Think I tried just about everything. In the end, I opened the spreadsheet, copied the contents and pasted the data into a new spreadsheet. Saving this fixed the problem and it synced fine .

The workaround worked with 4 excel files: I selected all the cells, copied and pasted them into a new file, saved and copied throught activesync. The Convertion worked, I have the file in my iPAQ now (...yes, iPAQ!).
