I need some advice; I never use the "New" button on the Today screen and wanted to know if there is a way of removing it without upsetting the OS - I am happy with the Today screen and have no real plans to change anything.

I'm sure I read that you can remove the soft buttons in WM5 and wondered if there was a similar solution for 2003SE.

Edit: I've just looked again at this and noticed it is no longer in bold - I tried OzVGA at the weekend installed and uninstalled, soft reset and now any text on the bottom bar is no longer bold, irrespective of which app I open - not sure what I did but it looks quite nice.

You could try WisBar Advance Desktop. It has a lot of functionality to modify the desktop.

Some claim WA2 and WAD slow down your PDA. It is not a problem for me at all because of WAD I use the PDA differently and more efficiently. Anyway, while WAD does allow you to remove the "New" menu it would remove the whole bottom bar at the same time.

I have an icon which show/hides the bottom bar with a single tap, so I think this is a great feature. But YMMV, as they say.
