In tha case i'm very interested to hear how you get on... especially if you can get linux syncing.. I remember hearing something about that a while ago.

When i get some time i keep meaning to play with linux. And as i'd never hear of essential pim either before today, we'd like to hear about that too!!!!

I don't have WM5... I have WM2003SE.

Icon3 Essential PIM

So far it's okay. I haven't installed any MS Office product and it syncs like a charm. The only thing I didn't like is it didn't transfer my categories over (But then Outlook didn't either... I had to create them first) and none of my notes did either. It's using ActiveSync but NOT OUTLOOK... so for right now, I'm quite happy with it. It's fast and simple to use.

So, those out there who are trying to break the M$ habit, give Essential PIM a shot...

So how's the past week gone for you? Any news (good or bad) to report?

You can sync hotmail, yahoo, or gmail with Outlook. It takes some tweaking but it works. For free hotmail and yahoo access via Outlook, Thunderbird, etc., try googling for Ypops or FreePop(s). Either one of those should help you. ;) I personally use Ypops to access my FREE Yahoo account with Thunderbird. Just make sure to read the docs.

You can use another PIM on the desktop to synch with the imbedded aps on the Axim. I use Companionlink )www.companionlink.com) to synch the Axim aps with Act2006. You still have to use activesynch as the main conduit manager. I do not think there's any way around that.
