Terminal Services newbie problem

Hi,

I am trying to connect my axim x30 mid to my desktop pc with terminal services client. The problem is that I don't know what IP address to use in the server box on the ppc. Do I use the WAN IP? The desktop is connected behind a linksys router. Do I have to change any of the default settings in the linksys setup?

My desktop is running XP Pro, with mcafee firewall temporarily disabled. I have the remote desktop feature enabled. Right now I am trying necting to the desktop via my neighbor's connection, but I also would like to use my own wi-fi to do this if possible. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I've tried connecting from my desktop to laptop and laptop to desktop. This works fine with the port open in my router and software firewall. However, I still cannot get my pocket pc to connect to either desktop or laptop. It just says the connection to the server has timed out. Try connecting to the Terminal Server again.

Has anyone got this to work? And if so, were you on your home network or from some other location.

Thanks.

I tried these suggestions, but it just doesn't work for my ppc. My network I believe is setup properly, as I can connect from my work to my home pc (port forwarded through 3389 to static ips, wan and lan).

But the ppc just isn't working. Is there some network settings I need to change in the ppc? I also tried Remote control, but no luck.

Thanks.
