Help! Deleted file by accident
I thought I was deleting a file that was left over from some software that I had removed and now when I do a soft reset it tells me that the file SBstart.exe is missing. Can any one help me to locate this file and put it back where it belongs. I figure if I do a hard reset it would solve my problem, but I am hoping to resolve the problem without having to re-install all my programs. I am using a X50V with windows 2003SE.

do you have a backup to resore from? if so, restore and then delete the files you originally wanted to.

If its a file that came with your Axim, I think you might be able to bring it back with a Hard Reset. Of course, I suggest asking somebody who knows a bit more than myself about these things...

If it was a file that was on the X50v originally, then it's in ROM and can't be deleted.
Have you checked to see that all your programs work ok?
Also, if it's reporting an error when you soft reset, the the link may be in \Windows\StartUp.
It could also be that the file was related to the software you removed, and the link was never deleted through the Remove Programs control panel applet.

I used SKTools to look for leftover files and it must have been a link left from deleting software that I had tried. I did a soft reset and I no longer get the error message.
Thanks for the suggestions. Everything seems to be fine now.

I also have an X50v running WM 2003 SE and there is no SBstart.exe file on my device.
Since you get the message on start up (after a soft reset) it must have belonged to an application that your X50v is trying to run on start up.
With a file explorer go to My Device\Windows\Startup and you will see .lnk shortcut files to all the apps that are run on start up. Identify the SB app and re-install it if you want to run it or else delete the .lnk file from the Startup folder.

Thanks, I came to the conclusion that it was part of a program that I had downloaded for a trial period. I have deleted the .ink and everything is working fine now. I appreciate the quick comments back and the suggestions/advice. Whenever i want to find something concerning the Axim, I come to aximsite to find the information. I try to scan the postings daily to keep up on the latest.
