iirc, .exe files install from your pc to axim and .cab files install directly from the axim (both via active sync or course)

Yeah, run that EXE from your PC with your Axim connected via ActiveSync.
As for CAB files, transfer it to your PPC via ActiveSync/Windows Explorer. and run it from the PPC via File Explorer. Basically, CAB= run on PPC EXE= run on PC.

EXE files: run them on your desktop machine and they will use ActiveSync to install to your Axim
CAB files: run them directly on your Axim to install their payload. Advanced users can use cabinstall (a 3rd party utility) to specify the install folder for CABs.

You can do two things - Install the *.exe files. After installation go to the folder where the installation files place the the installation files (It will sit there until AS kicks in). Since there's no AS - Go to that folder, and look for the *.cab files. Transfer that to your device, and viola!
secondly - you can go to CABFILES.NET. Either with your PPC or PC. All the files there are *.cab files. Most if not all apps that you need are there in cab format. Hope that helps. ![]()

Most of the time there will be like one file that would tell you that it's the right one. Go by process of ilimination. All files that doesn't say *.cab is out, right? So go to the next logical options... something that says *arm.cab or similar should be for your x50/x51... ![]()
