Problem with Pocket IE
I have a X50V with WM2003SE, and a PC with WIFI connection.
When I first used my PDA to connect to Internet, the connection via WIFI was very quick, and voilą, I was on Internet.
Over time it is taking always longer to connect (it used to be 10-15 seconds, now it is almost a minute) to my PC, and today although I can get connected, I cannot navigate any more, the message I get is the usual "The page you are looking for cannot be found". Messenger works, therefore it somehow connects.
Can anybody point me at a place where some ideas can be found ? I tried looking in the forums, but I could not seem to find anything. Maybe I did not look properly.
Thanks in advance

Could it be that the WiFi access point(s) you are using are slower than before? Have you cleaned out your cache, saved pages, cookies, and so forth? Have you filled up your X50V with more data and applications so that it has less room to load Pocket IE and the web pages?

Honestly do not know about the first. Although it does not seem like it, at least from the PC point of view. But you are speaking from a PDa point of view. Over there, I can only tell you that I can watch movies on the PC HD almost in real time (very few breaks, depending on the movie) which should mean the streaming is pretty fast.
Pretty sure about the second, as I try to install everything on my SD card, and I have therefore plenty of room (more than 35 MB).
I was thinking more on something like accumulation of something which slow things down, but I do not know what to ask.

- Tools/Options/Memory/Clear History (I set the number of days to save links to one day)
- Tools/Options/Memory/Delete Files
- Tools/Options/Security/Clear Cookies

Done all three. No change. Something fishy, though. When the PDA connected with the WIFI, the windows of the connection closed down on its own, when I switched to the Config tab. If I reopen it, no problem.
I spoke about accumulation, though, not in relation with the IE data, but my suspicion is with respect to something in the registry.

Possible, but unless you have tweaked the registry it is more likely memory. How much does your X50V show you have in Start/Settings/System/Memory under Free (both Storage and Program)?
Oh, and you have done a soft reset recently, right? Almost a silly question, since it is a Windows product, but had to ask....

That should be sufficient storage.

Forgot to answer about the soft reset. Yes, of course. (Sigh)

"The page you are looking for cannot be found" can be a DNS problem, which can be an issue at the ISP. Get an IP address for something easy (Yahoo, for example) and use that in the URL (e.g.: http://IP Address) to see if that reacts differently.

Tried Yahoo, as per your suggestion, same result.
Offbeat, do you know if there is a way to "reset" IE to initial values ?
For tonight, it is enough for me. Thanks

Simple solution
Open file explorer
Open the Windows Folder
Scroll down to the file named "welcome.exe"
Click on this file.
This will take you through the initial set-up screens without doing a hard reboot and it [I]should[I] fix your IE problem.
Hope this helps!:)
