Automatic dial-up to get email?

G'day.

I have an Axim X30H with a bluetooth\EDGE phone. I would like the Axim to dialup, say every 15 minutes, into my IMAP emailbox to get my email.

Inbox can do this when the unit is on, but of course keeping the unit on kills battery life. I would like the unit to wake-up, get email, then turn itself off......then repeat the process at whatever specified interval.

A search both on the forum and google turned up nothing definitive. Anyone been able to pull this off?

I was able to do this on my Palm with SnapperMail. Have not tried on PPC. The built-in mail client does not do this,eh? Perhaps FlexMail from WebIS can do this on PPC? Alternatively, you may be able to script it with something like SKSchema?

So SnapperMail "wakes up" the Palm device, dials, gets email, then shuts the unit back down? Good setup.

Hopefully I can find the same for PPC 2003 and my Axim X30H

"Dials" is a bit of a misnomer when dealing with a GPRS or Edge connection, but otherwise, yes.

BTW, there is an option in the standard email on my X50V (running WM2K3.2) to automatically get email at a specified interval using a specified connection.

Yes, I know - I am using the word "dial" here in the context of creating a connection.

I know about that option in the standard Inbox program. Like I said, it works quite well when the machine has not shut itself off. But when I have my Axim running on battery, it shuts itself off about 5 minutes of non-use. What I want for it to do is to wake up, get email, shut back down - in intervals of, like I said, every 15 or 30 minutes.
