Peoblems Upgrading to A06 Rom

I have been trying to upgrade to A06 rom. I can back up the old Rom without problems - but when it goes to write the new rom I get an error:
"USB driver problems found. Please reset your device and run this utility again."
The AXIM has a few text messages on the screen at this time:
"Waiting for host download!!"
Happily the AXIM seems to recover - but still with A05 rom.
Has anyone got any suggestions on this error?

Has anyone successfully upgraded to A06 rom?

Thanks

Richard.

Why not A12? You'll find step by step instructions on this site.

I have spent days trying to get rid of the error:
"USB driver problem found! Please reset your device and run the utility again."
while trying to upgrade my X30 rom tfrom A05 to A06 version.

There are many references to the error here - and most seem to suggest that disabling AV software and firewalls will fix it. This didn't work for me - and some others on this site. I fojnd one reference to killing the "wcescomm.exe" process - and this worked for me. Here is the rough procedure:

1) I plugged in the AXIM and let it open a guest partnership.
2) I then opened task manager and highlighted “wcescomm.exe”.
3) I launched the setup.exe for the update process.
4) Click the required buttons until I got to the final screen before the update starts.
5) After clicking this – I promptly ended the process.

The update went through cleanly.

Hopefully this post will come up readily in the search - and help others.

Richard.
You really should have posted your fix here and not in a new thread in an entirely different category.
