Unable to Uninstall program

I installed the trial version of DB Anywhere and it worked well. I was thinking of buying it but the price is just too steep. Unfortunately, I have been unable to uninstall it. When I try, it claims that there are files in use: \\Windows\mfcce300.dll and \\Windows\olece300.dll. I don't know enough about editing the registry. Can someone help?

Thanks,
Sue

Try doing a soft reset and then opening file explorer and deleting those two files. You don't have to even get close the registry.

You still may not be able to remove the files, without a little extra work.

Are you using 2003se or WM5? If you are using 2003se, you might want to down
load and install safemode. This program does not work with WM5. soft reset into safemode and then you will be able to remove those two files.

Another possibility is the use a program such as MemMaid or SKTools to clean up stray files and registry entries. I would suggest memmaid first, as it is less aggressive and therefore you are less likely to remove something important. Both programs offer a trial version, but they are well worth their cost should you choose to buy one.

Good Luck

I believe that Spb Pocket Plus also has a safe mode feature that will work with WM5, you could give that a shot also. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Look in myPDA for the link for SafeMode. It works really well (and it's free).
