Odd issue in Pocket Outlook... Help? Common? Fix for it?

So I setup pocket outlook to check a pop acct I made for my Axim. It functions perfectly as far as checking, sending, reading, ect... However, when I open P/O (pocket outlook), it works fine, but then if I close it, the next time I open it, it gives me the options on the bottom of the screen and "Inbox" at the top, but nothing in the middle. No emails or anything. I just see the today screen there. No matter what I do, it won't come back till I reset it...

Is this common? Is there a fix?
Is there a free email program I can use in place of P/O? I looked at nPop, but it only gets headers, and once everything is gone from the server, if is no longer availible on the ppc. I don't want to leave that much email on the server, so nPop won't work. Any idea's?

PS.
I'm not using Outlook at home, so I do not sync my email. I check the pop-addy directly with my wireless connection...

Thanks...

I had it for a while, and I find that the solution is to just switch to another program and then "open" pocket outlook from the start menu again. If this doesn't fix it then open it while you see the bars by clicking on the Inbox today item.
