Changing the 'Auto turn off' time.

Hello!

Does anyone know if there is a way to extend the 'Turn off device if not used for X minutes' in the advanced Power settings? The maximum available in the drop down is 5 minutes, which (for me) is not long enough!

If anyone knows of another utility that will over ride these settings or a registry hack, it would be really helpful!:approve:

I know you can turn the function off, but I have been caught out too many times when a calendar reminder has popped up whilst it is in my pocket, and then drained the battery!

Apologies if this has been asked before - I did do a 'search' but couldn't find anything.

Cheers!

Strange - With my X30High, I have available on battery up to fifteen minutes, on external power up to 30 minutes.

30 Minutes would be good, but an hour would be even better!

Unfortunately I only have the option of 5 minutes max on battery power and 30 minutes max on external power.

This is on my X50v, running WM2003se - I'll have a look at my old X5 tonight and see if that offers a different option!

Anyone else know how I can change the timings on my x50v?

Thanks again, I appreciate the replies!

Ok, well I have checked my old X5 and that gives the Maximum time of 15mins on battery power and 30 on external power, so the same as the X30 - strange why the X50v is different!

If anyone spots a utility that will over ride this function, please let me know!

Cheers!:approve:

Get some Registry Editing Tool, go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Power\Timeouts

change the value of "BattSuspendTimeout" (in seconds) and soft-reset...

regards
