Aximsitemobileicon Outlook 'Contacts' problem

I sync Outlook 2003 on my notebook with both my Treo 700w and Axim X30 High. The Treo has become my main PDA, and the Axim is mostly a backup. I just looked at the 'Contacts' on my Axim and discovered many phone numbers are missing! Turns out the missing numbers are all the 'Company' phone number field, a field that exists in both Outlook 2003 and Windows Mobile 5, but evidently not present in WM2003SE (I notice there are several fields in WM5 and Outlook 2003 that don't exist in WM2003SE). Any way to get WM2003SE to display the Company phone number field?

You might try the trial download for Pocket Informant. I don't know if it supports the Company field but it's worth a shot.

I don't know if this is any help but I put "Company" numbers down as "Business" in Outlook 2003. After updating they then show in WM2003 Contacts as "Work" numbers. Probably won't solve your problem but ultimately the numbers then do show in Contacts.

This is what I also do. It's not quite what you were looking for but that's as good as you can do as far as built-in software goes.

Pocket Outlook fields

Thanks. The main problem with changing the 'Company' phone number to something else is it will also display incorrectly on my Treo which has the ability to properly display the Company phone number field. I thought there may be a Registry Hack or other solution. The amazing thing is that MS didn't include all Outlook fields in Pocket Outlook. The 'Company' phone number field isn't new to Outlook, and it's surely needed and used by everyone!

Desktop Outlook and Palm can only display so many phone numbers, but you can choose which fields to display. MS should have taken this route, or displayed more fields as in WM5!

I'll look into Pocket Informant (I use WebIS Mail, now FlexMail), but I wonder if the setup time is worthwhile on a device mainly used as a backup. Oh well, I should have some extra 'project' time this coming long weekend.

:) Good luck!

P.S. There are a lot of routes MS should have taken. ;)
