I know of no way to do this. I wish I did. It is a very annoying feature of WM 2003.

Tweaks2k2 will clear the recent program list but not permanently.

I automatically clear this every day with a scheduled SKTools cleanup function.

There are some methods to lessen this, but in my opinion the cures are worse than the disease.

I did a search and came up with this freeware Utility- CLEARTEMP without a soft reset.

Clears it , but not permanently .

VicSoft ClearTemp is a wonderfull program, it will also delet several other types of temporary files, and you can define up to two custome folders to clear.

I'm curious - why do you want to clear the MRU anyway? Is it that big a deal to let it show you the last programs you ran? Who cares?

On WM5 The recent program can slow down the start-menu after a softreset.
it takes about 10 - 12 secs to load.
I had to use ClearTemp to clear out the recent files... 12 of them!!! even though you don't see them, they are there.

Another bug of WM5....

I don't really care who looks at my recent programs, but it really annoys me when I have to wait for start-menu to come up (12 secs !!!)

Does anyone else knows a program that can do this automatically? like a schedule job?
