How is speed? Aside from those sad benchmarks, how is real world performance compared to the old axim? Are things generally "faster?"

try to organize your pocketpc with some nested folders, and try to save from pocket word into one of them.

You can't, it will only save into your local ram, and worse it will only save one folder deep.

Good luck trying to organize any files.

Does 2003, address this problem?

It will arrive when it arrives. I remember the Win2k upgrade I got from them. The cd took about as long as they said... I had to wait about 2 months using WiNNT on my new computer...

Just got off the phone with Dell Canada software (1-877-501-4803). They have not received any information yet for SKU, pricing or availability of the upgrade package. He told me to try back on Friday and they might know more then.

Trying to be patient, but it all looks so enticing...

Search on the part number brings up no result again. Maybe they were having problems with the order link and removed it to be updated...

Basically it give the developers access to the OS. I would assume most of their software will work no problem with WM 2003 so don't worry too much about it.

For Canadians..the Dell site was updated and now the Axim officially goes with the 2003 version! (for both 300/400)
Now...when do they go out with any sales on these beauties?...

the sku used for the upgrade was accidently turned on for web purchasing last night, then quickly deactivated this morning. No info on when it will reactivated again. I post when i know.

The Dell rep said my PPC2003 CD will be shipped 7/28/03. Good thing I don't have to hold my breath! :-)

I ordered it on the site last night when it was first posted. My order went through, and I am now waiting for shippment. From what I heard, they accidentally started selling it on the site, then fixed the error thismorning. So it did work when it was up.
