Thanks for that great review. Answered a lot of questions. Where can I order the upgrade?
Chris, have you been using it with a Sandisk SD card? Any ideas if this issues has been resolved by Dell?
Furthermore, I wonder if the BT/Wifi support works with any card. Does the manufacturer have to release specific PPC2003? (or should we say WM2003?)

Chris,

two questions...

Will the upgrade for the dell include outlook 2002?

Also, in the specs, there is no mention of support for Win 2000... is this an oversite?

thanks

1. Sorry I use simpletech SD cards....
2. Outlook 2002 comes on the companion CD....(I had a beta and could not find a serial to use in the box, but I had it already anyhow...)
3. You all are welcome. I tried to be as complete as I could with the time I had with my baby(Axim)...

Good article.

Sounds like we need to back-up our axim before installing the update. Any ideas on what might be on the second CD? (I had read somewhere that you get 2 CD's)

Anyway, looking at the bechmarks - this almost looks like typical Windows updates, marginal improvement in some areas, and less in others. But, it might be worth it just to 'have the latest' in software.

Does anyone know if you can order the update through the Dell web site yet?

Hey, thanks a lot brices21. I really didn't want to do a phone order for this. I knew it would be available on the web sooner or later. Apparently it was sooner!

Cool Upgrade -- Sort Of

I bought my Axim X5 Basic on June 2nd, and I'm still in my 30-day return window. I was impressed with the Axim before the new OS hit and had wished I had bought the Advance model. So, I'm returning my Basic running PPC 2002 under the 30-day policy and buying the Advance running WM2003PPC.

I didn't really look at the return policy unitl I went to Dell's site to look at the price of the new unit. It seems that it fits my situation. The only down side is that the system is telling me it won't ship until 7/8/03. Looks like they are a little behind in fullfilment right now.
