As far as I can tell from scanning quickly through the article, we have to *order* the upgrade and have it *shipped* to us. It's $29 plus shipping. The price is OK I guess, but geeze, just let us download the darn thing!

There would probably a lot of people trying to download the new OS. And as you may or may not know, it too many people are online (more than the server can handle) then people may not be able to download, login, or do anything. That's most likely why they are offering the software via snail mail.

Just got off the phone with Dell Axim sales. (3:40pm EST, 6/23/2003)

*** No CDs will be shipped prior to July 22, 2003. ***

Price will be $34.50 including shipping. Pre-ordering will not get the CD shipped any sooner according to the rep I spoke with.

Ordered mine with some other stuff through a sales rep. He thought it might ship before 07/22. He also said I was the first one to order it through him.

Dell guy says CD will be shipped to us in less than 7 days. The 21 day thing is just because they don't have the stock in their warehouse right now.

I just bought mine over the phone. $29 plus shipping and tax. came out to about 38 bucks. The guy gave me his extension of 48556. He said though it has a long lead time (july 21st for pete's sake!) it should ship a hell of a lot sooner due to the fact that the part number just got turned on today and the stock info has not been updated yet. He did say that anybody who bought theirs may 23rd or later is entitled to a free upgrade. The phone for the free upgrade (as long as you bought on may 23rd or later) is 800-624-9897 x66966-option 2 then option 4. tried it, it works. Hope that helps

I just gave this a try and had absolutely no luck. Believe it or not I ended up explaining to the rep what an operating system was. :rolling:
