When you hard reset , your language settings will be altered to US , you could try that before you hard-reset .

I had same problem, but just changing settings worked fine for me...I was all up and running until I got to re-installing HP mobile printing...It loaded and I tried running it which worked until the whole system locked up and I had to do a hard reset - until then all I could get was the old today screen but I could access anything, all the start menu was gone etc. (ARGHHH). So an hour later after re-installing stuff again, I'm keeping away from hp mobile printing till I've had a chance to back up.

Don't know if anyone else had the same problem...will check other threads later....

At least it doesn't seem to be running really slow - can't say I've found anything amazing yet....but hey it new and it's finally here so can't really complain

What are we going to talk / moan about NOW!?!

Anyone feel that this has been a bit of a Budweiser? Advertised as the "next best thing" but when you try it it tastes like gnat's pee???

For the people with the A04 "slow" rom, it wasn't funny. Particularly when the fix was pulled 1/2 a day after it was posted, and half the users couldn't get it to work anyway.

And us lot and our ever changing delivery date. Well, that was funny. And more so now, as it appears some of our American "friends" are up in arms that the European's got it first.... :p

(I think posting a picture of the CD might of been too much.. :p)

I can only echo what others said - "That was an Upgrade???"

Time to test 100 SD cards... :)

Mad

Well mine was supposed to turn up yesterday (Tuesday), god its been a long wait - well guess what - according to the delivery log on Walsh Western site, there is an address query!!!!
Well I assume as I'm on an new estate (2 years old!), they couldnt find it!

Well excuse me for being stupid but streetmap.co.uk, punch in the postcode and wow, that was hard!

Or better still get the bloody postal service to deliver it - it's an f'ing cd for gods sake!

I give up, it's all going up on Ebay - Axim - the lot!

Wel, cracked it in the end! Changed to English (US) and it installed fine. Bit of hesitation at 1/13 but on it went. Now I have to hunt around for the 2003 file for my TrueMobile Bluetooth CF card as my only accessory (made by Dell) does not get recognised! At least it looks nice!
Have a nice day.

What's the link Bernie please? How's 2003, not much difference really, except my Bluetooth card does not work and can't find any drivers! Was it worth it?

I don't know if it was worth it...but I guess you gotta have it! Even if it does bugger up everything that was working just fine before!

Confused Cheesecake

I've received & upgraded my Ax.
I've paid and received a rebate on my freight charges
I've received an prepaid invoice from Dell today ...

Item No. 750-10356
Description. English - PPC'03 Upgrade (Kit)
Quantity 1
Unit Price 27.00
Net 27.00
VAT 4.73

TOTAL 31.73

Do what?

(Oh, and I've got a Bernie Keyboard. Don't think too much of it - prefer the thumb keyboard!!!!)

Well, Happy, what are we going to do? This is what they quote:

***** FREIGHT RULES ***** : Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 (Pocket PC 2003) Upgrade Kit does not incur any extra delivery charge purchased on its own (i.e. when purchased on its own freight will be deducted when order is processed)

Can you read this any other way? Does it really mean "We will put this statement on our ordering page but because we are such a big rich Company, we will totally bloody ignore it and still charge you anyway" Am I missing something?
I emailed my Account Manager tonight, not that he or anyone else has ever replied to any other email I have sent. He/She must be a fictional charactor!!
Anyone want to buy a four month old Axim Premier with a non working TrueMobile Bluetooth CF card because of a new 2003 operating system the Company hasn't got is own drivers out for it yet because it must have forgotton about them?
Wot a farce!

Hi Happy & Doug - well I haven't seen my statement, but I sent my e-mail to confirm receipt of wm2003 (as requested by Dell) who have since replied and confirmed that my credit card should show a re-imbursement in 4-5 days for the delivery charge.

Doug - I agree that the situation with your card is daft - I thought the whole thing with wm2003 was supposed to make all that easiers - maybe when the upgrade starts shipping in the US it might spur them on to sorting it quickly

Happy - I'm sorry to hear your not a fan of my keyboard - guess it depends a bit on how you like to use your ax & what you plan to use the keyboard for.

Getting my freight charges back!

Hi Happy,
Got a reply to my email to Dell threatening legal action if they did not refund my freight charges as per their web site statement.

{There was an error on the website when your order was placed and you were charged delivery. I would like to apologise on Dell's behalf for any inconvenience caused with regard to this issue.

I have arranged a refund to your account of the delivery charges. Your reference number for this refund is XXXXXXXXXXXX. This should appear on your statement in about 5 working days.}

Let's see what happens. At least, at last, they have replied to my umpteenth email. I nearly bailed out today and bought an IPAQ, at least the integrated Bluetooth works with 2003, not like the Ax. I will wait a little longer for the drivers.
