Blinded mate, blinded...

As for the Pocket Solutions ad, some people who design Flash Media ads should be made to stare at the flippin' things 24 hours a day!

My delivery date has moved back a day - its now 4/7/2003.. Pity there's going to be no one there to receive it, and I can't have the time off work isn't it?!

But hey...don't worry about not being at home to receive...they got no plans to delivery it on that day...we still got way more delays to go yet!!!

I'm wondering if the dates are a crytic way of Dell giving us Brits a phone number... 34747....

Cheesecakes Upgrade Diary (updated as the saga continues)

2/7 @ 6:39am
I notice with great sadness that my date has moved back to 7/7/2003. What did I say to her to make her change her mind?

2/7 @ 5:08pm
My date refuses to answer why she's changed. I notice that the taxi fare is almost as costly as she is. Did I forget to put the toilet seat down after I'd finished???

3/7 @ 10:51am
A text message came through - she's put it back to the 9th! Can't she make her flippin' mind up? Silly question that, wasn't it?

5/7 @ 3:14pm
Now this is getting silly. The date has changed SIX times in the last 24 hours... Ick

6/7 @ 9:24pm
This is amazing. No date change in 24 hours! The date is stuck on 7/7/2003....

dear Britons:

Well I just took a gander at Dell UK and yeah the prices aren't too tempting...

I was thinking maybe you all could get the upgrade at Dell Outlet, but the UK outlet is pretty diminutive compared to the US one....I just bought my upgrade at the outlet for $25 shipped (so about £16 i guess, assuming 1:1.6).

(The outlet has a 15% off all new peripherals + free shipping on all new peripherals special that doesn't end until august...)

good luck at getting an update in new zealand . Dell told me today that asia pacific has decided not to support the newmobile 2003 upgrade . So if you want it in Australia you will have to purchase a new axim!

Well I've now recieved this e-mail from Dell

Quote:
Thank you for your mail.

I am writing in response to your E-mail. In regards to your Dell Internet
order number XXXXXXXXX.
I would like to inform you that unfortunately this was a marketing error.
Your order is currently in production. Once your order has been delivered
please inform me by mail and I will arrange for a refund of the delivery
charge.
By marketing error I assume they were going to charge delivery...look out!

Had another look at the Order Confirmation I received yesterday. I also have been charged for delivery! I like the statement "Only in exceptional cases can an order be amended once production has started and in this event you will appreciate that an amendment charge may apply".
So therefore we will drop the £9 shipping charge but will charge you a £9 amendment charge because you brought it to our attention!!!!!
To be honest, it can be as long as it wants because I have just read from the Dell Community Board that the TrueMobile 300 Bluetooth CF card I received on Wednesday from Dell won't work with PPC 2003 anyway and Dell recommend you stick with 2002!
One guy actually received a new PPC 2003 Axim with a TrueMobile CF Card, rang Dell Support and that's what they recommended.
I'm trying to think of an analogy but I'm stunned!
Have a nice Friday.

It gets even better. Dell recommended to this guy that he return the brand new 2003 Axim and get a 2002 one instead! Why the heck did they send it to him in the first place?
This just gets better.............

Having been unable to contact my Account Manager by phone (main Dell switchboard - no hope), fax (number unrecognised), I have emailed them about the delivery charge. And my delivery date has slipped to 9th Jul now, thank goodness!
