Is it just me or is the Australian Dell service centre some of the worst in the world. After being connected to Malaysia I spent the next 20 minutes being passed from Department to department. They end result? They'll call me back!

Some news for any Swedes out there. I just placed an order for the upgrade, it'll be officially released tomorrow in Sweden, but the guy was nice enough to let me place the order today :)

He said I'll have it in 5-7 days

Following that link only showed an MS Entertainment Pack for $50. That is a relief, actually, as I can't see how Dell.ca could justify selling PPC2003 for CAD$75 when it's US$29.

If they try to sell it for that much I'll find another "source" for the new OS software. I don't mind paying a fair price for a product, but I will not be hosed.

Just order mine. It only took me about 5 Min to get in. Now I'll just have to wait and see how long it'll take to get it.

I just did a search on the Dell site for the part (PPC2K3) number - zero results.

But, my order placed on the Internet last night is still valid with a ship date of NLT 7/22/03.

I don't mind waiting - want to watch some other, more daring folks do it first anyway.

Also don't look forward to re-installing all the add-on software, but may wind up with a cleaner system in the end. A lot of software has been installed/uninstalled over the last 6 months during eval's.

I have been very pleased with my Axim and Dell. Works great.
Mapopolis is my killer application - totally justifies the Axim.

I would suggest that those wanting to order glean these posts for phone numbers AND extensions to do their orders

This site rocks!! I ordered my upgrade using the telephone number and SKU number from the first post. I also used the extension number. My order was completed in less than 5 minutes!

Well, I got the replacement Axim that was sent out yesterday as an RMA. Unfortunately, it has 2002 on it. :-(

I qualify for the free upgrade but am in Canada. Any recommendations as to how to get it?
