I think that this option of free update is a recommendation of Microsoft for all the OEM'S... I don't think that DELL don't follow it, but if they do it ...bad for they and us.
just a thought.

I hope in these days the things are clarified.

The link only suggests a free upgrade for purchases in the last 30 days - not for everyone - including those of us who have had ppc for longer - but that's the same for other manufacturers too

I bought my axim in December and I have no problem paying for the upgrade. Dell does not owe me anything. I paid for what I got.

Actually, hell, microsoft should give me a free copy of longhorn next year

No complaints here either - I think the upgrade is reasonably priced - just might hang back to see what bugs come free with it

Same here. It's like paying for Windows XP to upgrade from Windows ME. It's a new OS for the PDA so I have no problmem paying for the upgrade.

I can't believe so many people expect to get the upgrade for free. $30 for an upgrade is a very good price. I've been paying $99 for every OS from Windows/Mr. Gates since DOS 3.0 came out. You sure won't hear any complaints out of me!

By the link previously provided by carlos for (Upgrade to Windows Mobile Software for Pocket PC) Dell doesn't even have a link yet. Not even a "link coming soon".
