Will 2003 solve the Sandisk SD 256 problem

I know it is difficult to answer, but somebody said it was a windows softwareproblem.

No, it won't solve the problem. I got a new Axim with 2003, put an SD card in (one with one of the 'bad' serial numbers) and the Axim was asking me to format it after just a couple of days. I sent the card back to Lexar.

also, every sandisk SD denomination from 64MB to 512MB has experienced this issue, it's not just a 256MB problem.

other brands too, except SimpleTech, Panasonic, etcetera.
2x SimpleTech Bonzai USB2 mini-drive/SD card reader
2x Lexar 1GB (Non-Hi Speed!) SD (USA): write speed = 5.5MB/sec (37.5X) Space avail. (formatted) = 975MB
1x SimpleTech 512MB SD (Taiwan?): write speed = 5.3MB/sec (36.4X)...... Space avail. (formatted) = 489MB
RMA'd: SimpleTech 512MB SD (Japan): write speed = 3.9MB/sec (26.6X)... Space avail. (formatted) = 491MB
Sold: Viking 256MB SD (Taiwan): write speed = 1.5MB/sec (10.2X)........... Space avail. (formatted) = 241MB
Sold: Viking 128MB SD (Japan): write speed = 1.5MB/sec (10.2X)............. Space avail. (formatted) = 120MB

what are the bad serial numbers for the mostpopular SD cards? I know i sawa page w/ this one time

happycheesecake has more specific info, but basically if the card was made in China or Taiwan there's a good chance of it crapping out. the bad serial numbers look like nn9999nn where n is a letter and 9 is a number. usually the letter combos are like AR, LR, LQ.

all of these bad serial numbers come from china or taiwan.
