I saw the JVC and Gateway pictures and they are both UGLY! Not only are these PDA's no doubt bad for gaming they are designed for maximum distaste by a wide population. I think both PDA's will flop, and rightly so. The specs show that they have nothing new to offer aside from their disgusting cases.

That design would have been a lot better say a year ago this time, or even right when the Axim came out, but now? It offers no competition what so ever. Just like Gateway, Too little, Too late

The reviewer considers that sleeker than the axim? because it has that "thumb pad" nonsense? I'll take my rubber side grips and decent-looking Axim any day... It appears that the earlier rumors of Gatway ripping off Dell wre pretty true... although, $350 w/ $50 rebate IS behind Dell in Price point, already.

Oddly enough, the price they have quoted for the Axim is the price with extended warranty, yet they don't satate that, and don't quote that price on any other models... they must have an axe to grind with Dell it seems...

Is it just me, or does it look like it has a joystick instead of a D-Pad, kind of like the Palm Zire 71? I wonder if that would work better or worse for games? It doesn't really matter though because the buttons are so small looking, and poorly placed that is wouldn't be good.

I think it would be almost decent if the buttons were more in line with the directional pad, and the frame above the screen didn't have that stupid little swoosh on the left. Even with those changes though, it still has nothing over the Axim.

Okay, I have beena a member for a while, and i am not usually moved to posting, ummm, but UGGHHH! First off, the little swoosh that lionclaw mentions is not only strange, but distracts the eye, not good when the point is the screen. Secondly, ummm how many of us are right handed. 9 out of ten you say? THATS RIGHT. so stevey500's point about the speaker is well taken. A person would have to hold it very uncomfortably to hear the sound clearly. Plus, doesnt the axim advanced have 48/64 rom ram and this have 32/64? Sheesh, the design guys and beta testers there leave a little to be desired..... hey, what say we tell dell we would be HAPPY to beta test the new axims when they are ready....... :D

The thought that comes to my mind is, "What the hell is that?" The design is just plain bizarre. The is so astetically displeasing. It is uncomfortable to look at. The concept for the X3 is almost godlike compared to the 100x, btw I like how they put and x in it, *cough* rip off *cough*

I just read those panels are NOT speakers, so some one at gateway just has HORRIBLE design ideas.
