Dell gives UK customers the finger ove PPC2003

Well I've just spent 45 minutes on the phone to dell trying to get the upgrade for my AXIM that I bought on 6th June 2003 only to be told by the parts department (which I eventually got through to) that it will when available cost £30.00 no matter when I bought the AXIM.
What service Dell has for its UK customers. Obviously the fact that they are american they can use us just like they did in Iraq and give us the finger when we want them

Does UK have the 30 day 'satisfaction' window? Flat out tell em that it is going back and once refunded, you will order the 2003 model.

I wonder if dell will learn the hard way

Well Ive read all about this 30 day no quible warranty dell offers and although I love my Axim I think I'm gonna send it back under that and re-order another one.- why should us in the UK (or elsewhere) pay for it after only 3 weeks when people in the US get if free.

The thing I dont understand is that the rep said "any axim" so therefore it applies to ALL axims purchased after 23rd may unless specified .. which it does not.. :crooked:

Maybe I shouldn't say that which I did above but...

The company SHOULD have policies the same for all its customers. Yeah some 'insurance' policies aren't allowed by law everywhere but his does not fall under that rule.

Dell SHOULD offer the upgrade to its customers and if they don't simply due to the fact its the UK, shame on em. Dell will be prepared to have many 'refurbs' soon I guess :)

You should try dealing with Dell Thailand. They don't respond to enquiries at all.

(and you still can't order Axims here !)

Well this is completely the opposite of what I was told yesterday.

I was informed it would £19 for the upgrade, sounds like Dell's UK CS has no clue of what's going on

Well looks like as if I will be sending mine back as well.

I would suggest that some of you fellows from the UK not poke ALL americans in the eye over your problems with Dell! Most of the time we make a pretty good ally, don't we?

I would request a little patience while the CSR's in the UK find their ass from the hole in the ground...they are British too after all!

What a WANKER!

Myuncle.. its not that.. its the fact that we are in "rip off britain" and we ALWAYS get ripped off until we all stand and say no we aint having it.. like u people in the states do so well..

From what I can see we dont even have the 30 days satisfaction return that you have and as everyday passes my 7days to return is running out! (tomorrow will be the 7th)

So any chance of returning my axim to get ppc2003 will be lost if they dont send it out free.
The reason you are able to get it free is probably because u can all send it back under this 30 day satisfaction rule.. so to save the hassle they send you the free update.. but we dont have that luxury :/

Well according to Dell - another hour on the phone - NO the UK does not get a 30 day satisfaction period and the UK mut pay £30.00 no exceptions.
I would suggest that all UK Axim owners phone them in disgust at being treated inferior to the Americans.

As to MyUncles reply
All I can say is thanks for resorting to foul language
and in reply to your private email sent to me.
The Americans abandoned us in World War 2 until the japanese pulled you into it - without the japanese you more than likely wouldn't have got involved
The Americans wont get involved with us (most of the world) in lowering the ozone depletion.

I supposed we must thank all the americans that got involved with the UK by providing the IRA with all that money for guns - I wonder was that a loan or a gift - I know our goverment is still paying America for supplies from the second world war.

ROFLMAO!!
Just got off the phone from Dell part sales, he said it will be 3 - 4 weeks before it is avaiable here, and after quoting the passage from the dell forum
"Any Axim purchased since May 23, 2003 qualifies for a free upgrade to Pocket PC 2003"
I managed to get him to say that I will qualify for the free upgrade even though he was having none of it to start off with.
Then asked where can I get that from, and he said not from dell part sales :crooked: I will have to goto customer care and nicely put the phone straight down on me
LOL - funny

So there is hope for us here :)
