Cute...

Do a great job in what regard? With products or with customer treatment? Yes, Dell generally does product a fairly quality product at a reasonably price. However, many will agree that Dell's customer service is well below sub-par. Running a business goes beyond what you sell. It also encompasses the people who sell and support the products.

Well, if the UK would give it up and convert to the Euro, like the rest of Europe, they could pay 30€ and it would be almost the same as $30.

Just be glad you don't live in Mexico and have to pay 313 pesos.

It could just be that MS Europe charges more for the code than MS US does.

It's a silly argument. It costs what it costs. If you want it, you pay. If you don't want to pay, you steal and take your chances, or you go without.

You don't hear many US citizens griping about GSM/GPRS phones that Nokia doesn't make available here until a year or more after Europe and Asia get them, do you?

I've had great treatment from Dell. I don't expect instant gratification or everything for free. If there is a vakue added tax etc., don't you expect to pay it? Dell doesn't impose that tax. How can you blame them for it?

I'm not sure why I got into this..but VAT is 17.5% so on $30 equates to $35.25 or £22.30 (or there abouts) not the £30 or so pounds suggested by some people here.

But there again other posts have suggested Dell have told them it is available for about £19 - if thats the case I don't have a problem.

But hey - yeah your right - personal choice - buy / don't buy

Can european buyers still return their axims within 30 days of purchase? If so, just call up and threaten to send it back and repurchase...

Lionclaw - that was part of the original reason why some users have been getting worked up...not sure about the whole of europe - but in the UK it's been reported that we only get 7 day satisfaction - not 30 days!...

The 30day return policy is not a Dell policy, its federal law. Because Dell is technically a mail order company, Federal commerce laws demand that Dell (or any mail order company, for that matter) must give their customers a 30day return guarantee. I don't know what the commerce laws are in the UK or abroad, so i can't tell ya what it would be there

Well after all the counter claims it now seems my rough calculation of £19+vat at 17.5% was

correct

And dispite some further suggestions to the contary postage should be deducted if ordered as a stand alone product...so like I said before - no problems here for me! Just going to order it now...

Well your right its £19.00+VAT and you can buy on this link

http://dellware.euro.dell.com/dellst...OSKU-750-10356

Bloody long link though!!!

I'm still not happy that we have to pay for it even if you bought after may 23rd but I'll probably pay up later

That aint gonna stop me trying to get it for nought though

Well I've had my Ax since April - no complaints about having to pay for it personally given the time I've owned my ax - but each to there own I guess...but from the website I think it suggests we in the UK could get the upgrade before the US...so if that is true does this open up another debate?
