Buy a copy of PPC2003 from Dell, grab an image of the CD, and post it on my FTP server ;)
Also, Dell seems to be learning alot from M$. WAY TO GO DELL!

I know that it is not right for Dell to be so confused in the UK and not providing the support that they should. However, our CDs aren't shipping until July 21st (or thereabouts), so give them awhile to get their act together....after all, the new OS was just announced 3 days ago.
As for Proving_Grounds idea, that is completely uncalled for. I understand that it is not right for them to be doing this.....but that does NOT make it right to be pirating the new OS. An alternate LEGAL way, would be to just fork over the money for shipping and have someone in the US order it for you and send it your way. I'm sure if Dell UK doesn't offer it (for whatever reason), there would probably be a reseller that would ship it to UK.
My guess is that Dell UK is just a little behind in their info, and that they'll have everything straightened out within the next couple of weeks.

But then there are so many counter reports - how knows - I'm sure Dell don't!
Either way, Proving_Grounds is talking of something completely illegal. I know you didn't give an address of your FTP, but in the future please do not discuss pirating on the boards. Thanks.

Come on chaps - there should be no need to talk about doing anything illegal here.
I'm sure that we can get dell to treat all customers fairly - both in the us and out of it - I have posted 2 polls - 1 for dell to improve its customer service and 1 for the way that dell are treating users outside the usa over ppc 2003.
In the uk dell do know about free upgrades in the states but have catagorically said no to any free ones in the uk and all customers will have 2 pay £30.00 which equates to £50.00. reading other postings this is happening in other countries also + in the UK there is no 30 day satisfaction window - we only get 7 days.
both of these polls are in the TELL DELL forum and I'm sure if enough of us give our views then dell will take notice.
SHODDY?? what i'm getting an OS for free from dell. they have great support and great price on the axim. Dell is fine so what if we have to wait a month!?
XKalibuR - it's not really about the wait - in the UK it's about conflicting reports about the cost (up to £30 compared with $30)
...and for some the suggestion that it's only people who bought their ax's in the last seven days that are entitled to the free upgrade (as opposed to the 30 days suggested by MS & Dell in the US)
But I agree - there should be no need for doing anything illegal - if the upgrade costs the equivalent of $30 (about £19 ?) then I have no complaints and would be happy to pay the price...in respect of the price & quality of the Ax - Dell has it dead right!
Hey, you know what...Dell is Hell. I've never spent more money and been treated worse other than when I bought my car. They have no regard for their customers and hopefully their sales will suffer due to it. Though I'm not defending illegal actions...if Dell treated their customers with respect, the idea would probably not have crossed anyone's mind.
