My PPC 2003 Order Attempt Nightmare

Welp, I'm fed up with Dell US. I originally placed a phone order for PPC 2003 early last week for about $35. Then, the free shipping and 15% off thing from delloutlet.com came around, so I canceled my other order and placed a new one online which came up to $24.65, a nice $10 savings.

I recieved an order acceptance notification, but the confirmation never arrived. So, for the last 3 days i've been trying to call and find out what happened to my order. I keep getting these smug sales people telling me that I canceled my order, and I keep telling them it was a different order, but to no avail. They just keep juggling me off to a different extension. The e-mail support people don't read my mail, they just tell me to call their phone support. Lisandra in the chat support didn't bother even reading my question, but instead just juggled me back to the phone support, once again.

So, anway I figured I'd give phone support one more try and use the extension Lisandra gave me. I called them up and used ext 62032, where after being on hold for 27 minutes, I was told I should contact some other department. So they transferred me to ext 63805. At that extension, they said I needed to contact sales, so they sent me to ext 66966 option 2 option 4. Sales told me they could re-order it for me, but I would have to pay full price + shipping. I refused(i've already placed an order totally $24.65, i'm not paying more), so they told me to contact online sales and pushed me off to ext 43784. After waiting on hold there for about 8 minutes I just got fed up and hung up....

Anyone have any suggestions? Any ideas? I'm at the point where I could care less about ordering a copy now. Is there any place I can go to lodge a formal complaint against Dell?

You can check your order status online? Like http://support.dell.com/us/en/dellca..._002_ccare.asp

I dont know how the Dell Outlet compares tto the standard Dell site. I had an similar exp, I cancelled my first order, and placed a second. I got a 10% off, and well as free shipping when I ordered on the 27th of last month.

Same here, 27th. The order acceptance I recieved said my customer and order number would come in the confirmation e-mail, which never arrived. So, I don't even have an order number. The 10 times or so dell people have tried to look the order up, they tell me they can't find anything in the computer. Several have even suggested that I only *thought* that I had placed the order, but didn't. They are being much less than helpful. I keep trying to tell them I have my order acceptance notification, and I'd be willing to forward it to them as proof, but they just decline and transfer me around :(

Big Smile Got my confirmation

I was in the same boat. I ordered on the 27th and got the acceptance e-mail, but nothing else. I just got the confirmation and order number. So they must have been telling the truth and were backed up.

You have my sympathies. I called to cancel an order I placed 6/23 so I could take advantage of the 15% discount. I never got my 2nd confirmation email and the order never showed up on my status page. So I replaced my order with no trouble...2nd confirmation email came right away and the order showed up fine on my status page.

As I checked my status page tonight I got a big surprise! My first order has not been cancelled, the 2nd order is still there and now I have a 3rd order ... hehe! I have 3 copies of the PPC2K3 upgrade on order. OY!

Then there is still some bit of hope ;)

After getting off the phone with Dell I need one of those little sand bags to tear at.... something to calm my nerves...

Eh, If it dosen't go through I think i'll just wait it out. I doubt I'll see it for $24 any time again soon, but I guess the extra $10 isn't worth the stress...

I just went thru the same thing, however my outcome was different. I placed an online order the day the update came out. Then I read on here about the free shipping and 15% off. So I sent an email last week to cancel (couldn't get thru). Well, today I call and get thru like in 5 minutes, my order never was cancelled, she wnated to know why I wanted to cancel, I told her and her comment was "oh?", like she wasn't aware that her software that her company was selling was selling for less then she thought.

So, I reorder it today, got the confirmation, it's on the website, but shouldn't expect to see it by 5-7 Aug!!!

This went much smoother then the rebate issue, which I have yet to see Dell!! I am starting to wonder about this company. Shame that the product (so far) has been better then anything I've owned in the past. But Dell, let me tell you, your customer service issues will destroy your company!!!! Fix it, or it will fix you..
