Ordering PPC2k3 from Dell Canada

Ok, it took some string pulling but here is the info;

sku# 310-4214 = PPC2K3 UPGRADE KIT,ENG

This is for Dell Canada only. I have placed my order and the ETA is I should have it by late next week.

This is for people who don't quailify for the free upgrade in Canada.

I believe the cost for this is $45 CND.

No, it will tomorrow though. Their tracking system takes 24 hours to kick-in.

So, are they selling the upgrade kit to the general public yet. I've been told, as of yesterday, by customer care, that it will still be two weeks before they sell it.

I'd have to say they are selling it to the general public as I have given them my credit card # and got an order #.

I was told the hold up was they didn't have a sku # for Canada... this was resolved yesterday some time.

Call them and give them the sku # quoted above. All should be fine.

Well i called Dell Canada, inquired about the upgrade kit, and was promptly informed it was not available until next week some time. I gave him the sku #, and he found it, and let me order it. He told me he wasn't even aware it was available, and found it scary that the customer had the right sku #, that he didn't even know about. Anyway, told me it should be about a week or so to arrive

I just called Dell Canada. Got someone named Nicole. Gave her my order info, etc, said "I understand you have a free upgrade for the operating system". She knew the deal, and said "Let me just check if you fall into the time frame, and yes, you do fall into the time frame". Sat on hold for awhile. She said I should be receiving it in 10-14 business days, and I'd have to call in about 7 days to check the status... Apparently I can't check the status online...

I just called and the dude at dell canada said they don't have the upgrade yet, and he doesn't even know if it's going to be free. Did I just talk to an idiot or something? Should I call back and ask for someone else?

I just called again and the guy again didn't say anything about it, then I gave him the sku # and he was like, "yeah, but it's $45" and I told him about being eligible for the free upgrade and he told me there was no such deal. He then put me though to a manager, where I left a message about my predicament.

The sku # I posted is NOT for a free upgrade. It is to allow you to PURCHASE PPC2k3 for your axim.

Only people who recently purchased the axim qualify for the free upgrade.

If you want to buy the upgrade, call back and give him the sku # I listed above.
