Mad No free upgrade for Aussie's

I have been sending emails to every Dell address i could find regarding the 2003 upgrade but it seems that as far as Dell is concerned Australian's dont rate on the world scale. From now on Dell can kiss my business goodbye.

(Dell Customer Care response)

(Good day and thank you for reaching us at Dell Asia Pacific Customer Center (Dell APCC) via website.

Your feedback and comments are important to us.

Please be acknowledged that your inquiry has been logged with us with the Ref:CE/AU

We are sorry to tell you that we are not able to provide you with Pocket 2003 OS upgrade as there is not a plan from the management to offer the upgrade to customers in Asia Pacific. Appreciate your understanding and thank you so much for your support.

Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Once again thank you for your feedback and it is indeed a great pleasure serving you.

Have a pleasant day! )

What support !
I bought my Axim on the 15-06-03 so to miss out by such a small time frame is a real pain in the butt.

And another reply

(Hi Greg,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, this is only being offered in the US, and is not planned to be offered in Australia.

Thanks & Regards,

Chris Meyers
Business Sales Division
Dell Computers Australia)

Thanks for all the support downunder Dell!

Yep, they sure are pleasant, but definitely aren't helpful.

At least you got a reply...I am still waiting.......zzzzzzzzz

I too purchased my ax in early June and am too very peeved at Dell's lack of understanding of it's customers needs here in OZ.

So from what you are saying we won't even be able to purchase the update, let alone get it for free because we are within the 30 days?

That really stinks!!!

I'm sure Dell will eventually offer the upgrade as it becomes the standard OS for the Axim. However, a response from Dell of that nature is not unusual to say the least. It seems to me, sometimes the people you reach at Dell are helpful and other times, you encounter the representatives who are truely reflective of Dell's nature. My advice would be to continiously call them nonstop until you reach a resolution. Just because one person is unhelpful does not mean the next will be also. I've had fights with their customer service reps that have lasted over 45 minutes. Eventually when they gave in I thought "Gee, why couldn't they have done this in the 1st place as obviously they had the power." If all else fails, backup your Axim, send it back and reorder.

If you really want to push the issue return the axim and then repurachse it when 2003 is available. Dell will reserve your previous price you paid. Just give the Dell CSR your previous order number and ask to buy it at that price again. Or if a better deal comes along go for it instead.

SSTINMAN,

How did you get this deal? Do you have a name of someone I can talk to about this?
I have just swapped emails for days with Trevor Townrow from Dell Australia Customer Services and the only way he said they would do it involves a 20% "re-stocking" fee (see my rant here on this forum posted 10th July)... and when I rang Dell (after reading your post) they said reserving the previous price was not possible to do. Why the **** can't Dell just have one compnay policy?!?!? Why, everytime we speak to them do we get a different story?!?!? Why doesn't anyone know what's going on from one day to the next - pull your finger out Dell!!!

This is making me sooooo mad - I'm losing development business because I can't get an upgrade to PPC2003... but if I live *anywhere* else except in the A/P region I can get it... go figure!

Mike.

(Now, where's that "frustrated" smilie?)

I have been waiting on a reply from Dell about the same issue & when it finally came all it did was give me a link to the exisiting ROM updates for PPC2002, they didn't even answer the question.

So I returned the email asking for them to answer the question!!!!
{I would phone but I have alredy been hung up on twice without even getting the question out}

Dell Customer Service {now that's an oxymoron if I ever heard one}!!!

My Response - AUSSIES UNITE and nag Dell until they do something about it. Lets just keep on their backs until they get sick and tired of us nagging!!!!!
