Question Revert from 2003 to 2002

Am I the only one who wants to revert back to Pocket PC 2002 0S?

2003 is not compatible with Pylon pro, so I have lost my functionality of Lotus Notes.

Does anybody know how you can revert back to 2002?

I don't think you can go back. I haven't received my 2k3 upgrade yet so I don't know which I prefer.

You might want to give 2k3 a little more time. Since it is new, developers need some time to make alterations to their apps so they can function.

I have read that some apps/games/visual enhancers and even drivers don't work. I may wait a little while myself for the rest to catch up with the OS upgrade also.

For anybody thats good with Visual Studio or C#, you can download the Windows Moblie 2003 SDK from Microsoft; if you want to make your own programs for your Axim. Here is the link: http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...displaylang=en

I am almost 100% sure that you can do a hard reset on your windows mobile 2k3 device so that you can revert back to 2002. But this is only possible if you bought your axim with the 2002 operating system. That's only what I have read, but I don't have wm 2k3, and am glad that I didn't waste my money on sonething that makes your system sluggish.

I'm 101% sure that you're wrong. The ROM is being over-written. PPC2002 is gone.

But let's see what happens when more people get it and try.

In a ROM upgrade, the ROMs of either PPC2K2 A03 -OR- MM2K3 are overwritten.

The problem goes into the installer itself. The installer check the device before installing. Will the A03 update know that an install from a MM2K3 ROM as a valid device. This is one reason why you can't 'upgrade' a Toshiba, iPaq etc with a Dell A03 ROM. Another way is if the installer simply looks only at the manufacturer code as a Dell and allow the upgrade.

Only way to find out is to try. -NOW- the problem is if you got your Axim with MM2K3 installed and in a couple months -IF- the manufacturer get on and update the drivers etc.. can you go back to MM2K3?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i think before A03 copies itself to the axim it checks what version you have, thats why it doesnt list your system because you already have a newer version

the A03 upgrade doesn't include all the core parts of ppc2002 anyway right? so even if you were able to flash it you'd prolly fuxor the axim up

Although I can guess what fuxor means, I just have no clue on the logic behind it.
