Like I said yesterday....the Rep was talking about the Fix for the dodgy version of WM2003, not the upgrade.

My comment about owners of Pocket PC 2002 having to purchase the Upgrade from Dell AP was an assumption.

Mortemei... sorry - my fault: I didn't read your post carefully enough. I got all excited and thought Dell had come to the aid of the party - should have known better!

On the service side of this: Maybe this Trevor guy is just a sales rep but he *SHOULD* at least be forwarding complaints to whoever *IS* responsible for handling them - say Dells 'Customer Experience Team' - instead of asking the customer to go look them up.

I would just like to know why Dell can't offer a seamless internet purchase and distribution system. Does it really matter where I live in this day and age ? When we're dealing with an electronic file ???

It's also sort of annoying when Dell simultaneously offers products at vastly different prices in different countries. The axim was more than 40% more expensive in Oz than in the US when it was released (and the accessories still are). And then they claim the demand is not high enough to bother servicing AP customers !!

Well, HP has managed to do a very nice job of releasing the 2210 globally and for a fairly similar pricing scheme. They're selling like hotcakes in markets that Dell can't be bothered with, like Thailand. Sorry guess I'm drifting off topic here...

Totally agree with the point about Trevor (or whoever) passing these complaints and comment on... but for all we know he did/does. Granted - it's unlikely, but we can't assume he hasn't done something behind the scenes.

I guess the reason stuff is more expensive in this part of the world is there is simply a much bigger roll-out involved for every product than there is in the USA & Canada. Think about - all Dell (for example) have to do for the massive Americas market is provide versions of any software etc in English and Spanish. For A/P they have to do these languages plus Japanese, Thai, Mandarin, Trad. Chinese, Indonesian... well, you get the picture. I'm not excusing Dell (or anyone else) cos it severly pisses me off too... all I'm saying is that I can see why our prices aren't the same as the US market. I lived in the UK for 10 years and we always complained about the same thing in the European market - and the problem is the same: they have to roll out multiple versions of everything which costs them a lot more.
Having said all that, I *do* think we in the A/P region still get taken for a ride... if only the Asian companies could see that the A/P market is just as massive and start competing price-wise more in our region then I think we could have similiar (or better!) prices than the North American market.

Only my 2c worth...might be talking complete cr*pola!

Mike.

Glad to hear it! Still not sure if I'll do it on the Axim since I have the iPAQ (after all this!) but it's good to know his suggestion worked!

I thought the word "Ipaq" was illegal on this forum!

(Lets put it this way - more and more Ipaq 221x owners are complaining about SD cards problems)

Hi Peops,
Sorry haven't been around for a while, very busy with work. I'm still in the fight for WM2003, so you can count me in. I want the WM2003 upgrade also ): I will keep trying to contact DELL again, but I keep getting the run around, is it because I'm a girl?!?!?!!Guess not, everyone's getting the run around. I will email DELL again, hopefully I can get answers. The phone calls don't seem to be working.
