Great job SuperGuy!!! Maybe the spotlight on Dell will cause them to step up and do the right thing.

Thanks. I certainly hope so. I figured these guys would jump at this story as Dell's a big enough target. :)

The Reg seems to be taking their time, but I'm sure they're contacting Dell as well.

Super

...and the question goes unanswered...

"Why didn't the reviews of Dell Axims running WM2003 report this problem?"

The problem is so obvious...painfully obvious even within the first few minutes of use.

I'm wondering if there has been a hardware/software change and those doing the initial reviews were using old hardware/software with an mm2003 upgrade and the new pre-installed Axims are exibiting slow downs due to this "hardware/software charge" that's conflicting with mm2003, therefore it didn't show in their reviews.

If you are referring to the reviews on sites such as CNET, of course they give good reviews. Notice that the site is chock full of Dell advertisements..uh huh.

I just figured it was common sense never to trust an "objective" review that is sponsered by the company whose products are being reviewed.

This one takes the cake, Dell Canada. I was calling them for the past week for the status of my order, and they kept on saying "it'll arrive today or tomorrow. Well I finally got it yesterday, but I called them today just for laughs. And do you know what they said? The exact same thing LOL! They don't even know that I have the Axim! That must take the cake.

I don't think anyone has the upgrade yet, Dell has delayed it until (I assume) they have a patch ready.

The problem there is we've only seen one review done by this site. I have yet to see one from any other site. I'm guessing Aximsite got it as it's pretty much an Axim shrine.

I do remember them questioning the validity of the benchmarks as they seemed way off. But it IS pretty similar to what we're seeing now.
