Although I, and many others hope that this is indeed true... it is far from being a fact.

People, like myself, who find themselves with an Axim w/WM2003 need to make decisions based on facts... not 2nd hand data of questionable veracity.

I talked to a rep from Dell support, and he said that Dell are waiting for Microsoft to release the patch!

Why should he lie?

Because...

1) Hardware vendors always blame the software vendor (and vice versa).
2) A outsourced Tech rep is bound to not really know that much about the situation
3) Until a fix is in your hands... a schedule is worthless. They have no idea how long it will take to find and fix the problem, until after it has been found and fixed.

snathanb is absolutely correct! Its the same for the companies I worked for like Nokia and Nortel. No surprises, we need to be less naive. Its called passing the Corporate Buck and the great Delay Tactic game. Yes they will get around to a patch but it may take longer than what they usually post.

ParaAxim... I see we are in the same neck of the woods. I've worked for many hardware and software vendors in Richardson, and it's always the same. (Even within the same development group... the hardware and software guys blaming each other).

why would dell lie. They are giving pretty much the same answer from all the tech reps as of the last 2 days and if they lied, they would have even more angrier customers on their ass.

The patch will be out soon, stop going nuts :P

They aren't lying, they are just passing around rumors.

The same thing happened after they released Mobile 2003. Many people including myself were told that the ship time would be in the same week as the release despite what the website said.
