confirm slowness?

I just got my WM2003 axim today, and I tested it VERY briefly with my old battery (the new one is still juicing up).

now, again, i only had the thing on for like 1 minute, but when i tapped the start button it didn't seem to take any longer than ppc2002 for the menu to actually show up (under 1 sec). moving through the menus didnt seem to take any extra time, either.

I have build 13100.

question: is this performance normal for an axim with nothing on it, and it'll just slow down a lot as i install programs etc.? or are the slow units slow from the get-go? OR is this somehow a good unit?

i'll play with it a bit more when i get back later this evening. i probably just have to wait for the patch like everybody else.

Is your unit a basic or advanced model. I have a theory about the differences in the 2 models and their problems with WM2003. There seems to be more and more discussion regarding 300MHz running 2003 being faster than 400MHz. I'll post my reason soon.

Also, in reply to your question, the unit doesn't seem to slow down until you start actually running programs. Even after you exit them, it slows down the system, but I have a hunch about this too. More later.

ok, after further testing, looks like my unit is a slow one, maybe a little faster than ppl are reporting but i havent loaded it up with stuff yet so that's probably why.
