Here's a question. If the Axim did not exist, would the IPAQ 2215 come out priced and feature rich as it is?
IMHO, AT THE VERY LEAST, we have Dell to thank for lowering the price and upping the anty. This most probably caused a general wake up call amongst the other brands and turned round the ever escalating prices of new units.

On the other hand would the Axim be so low priced if the Ipaqs didnt have intergrated wifi, bluetooth, consumer grade IR and what have you. The Axim can do all that too but with add-ons and modifications, thats one of the reasons its so cheap, you have to go out and buy extras for pretty much everything.
Then again, of all people, Viewsonic also makes a nice PDA, though it is very overlooked, even Razor (yes, the company that makes scooters) has a respectable entry into the PDA market.

...I'll stop going off topic now...maybe I'll start a new thread about this stuff later...if there isn't already one.

.. i just want my axim to be fast.... its only 100 less than the 2215, and if i didnt have to pay a restocking fee in order to RMA i would have by now...

the new axims are slow... the service has not appeared to be very award winning, and i have a magical patch that is supposed to make everythign better that i cant read reviews or try myself...
i am mad at dell, i paid money... therefor i have all the right i want to crab and moan about dell.

even if im a noob &/or whatever EU stands for, i paid my 300.. im in the club... im in the bitch about new axims club.

if you dont want to hear people complain, then tell dell to get it right the first time
... or you could go to a board not entitled windows mobile 2003, on an axim site.

i hate you dell, the only thing that could entirely fix this bleamish would be free money... or a cushy tech support job offer, where i apparently dont have to do anyting but read the website and transfer people

i havent been this mad at a company since i had to buy a new sega genesis to play the new sega games..... i still dunno why the first few werent compatible with the new games.....

on hp's support pattern its not getting much better for you.
The ipaq 2215 costs twice as much(200$ vs. 400$) i dont think i will switch because of a little blutooth. dell will reliese a patch, but who knows when.

People just can never be satisfied.

Just for info - I've placed my order for a new Axim last Friday and on checking the delivery date is now 11th August.

I'd say that they are not getting shipped till the problem is fixed - which is fine by me tho I'd like to have my lovely new toy a bit quicker....:p
