When the patch comes be prepared!

Just a word of wisdom!

When the patch does come I would highly suggest you call Dell support to receive the ok to use the patch. The reason is I upgraded rom via flash four months ago on my moms Dell for her CDRW and the flash didn't take. Even though Dells OWN website said to do it they did not stand behind it as if you read read the bottom of most of all their download pages its states they are not responsible if you do not call Dell first. Dell tech stated if I would have told them the CDRW was DOA since it was only two days old they would have replaced it but since that was a LIE and I'm sick of hearing people lie to get what they should anyway I told the truth. My bad! Because i did not call tech first I had to shell out $50 for another CDRW.

Make sure you read the entire download page as this language was at the BOTTOM of the page and not at the top and of course it was in small type.

...well I would suggest against that, as long as you know its the right patch go ahead with it. Calling dell will result in a longer period of time with a non-working axim (well close enough to non-working :P)

You never get a straight answer out of dell anyways

30 days up

I agree their support from India sucks but my 30 days are up July 30 and I and questioning whether it is worth the gamble although I did get the advanced for $257.

Well most of us have gone through two ROM upgrades without many problems. I'm not too worried about it. By now Dell has figured it out. A02 was crazy, but A03 was a piece of cake.
Later,
James

if you got it once for $257, I'm sure you can do it again, after this wm2k3 stuff settles down. I got my RMA today and If I can't get the 2210 Edu discount, then I'll probably reorder the ax if it works.
Now Ax'n my Ax and Paq'n a new Paq
(Former h3630 and Axim owner, now zippin' along with my h2210 and wm2k3 )

In the UK they can't charge you a 15% restocking fee if you have been supplied with a defective product, which we quite clearly have. Why should I or anyone else be penalised with restocking fees if they supplied a defective product?

If I decide to send mine back and they so much as breathe "restocking fees" my lawyer will be contacted and legal proceedings would commence. I'm happy to wait for a fix but admittedly I'm cautious of the amount of time I might have to send it back.

my understanding is that dell home customers do not have to pay a restocking fee.
