PPC2003 upgrade shipment may be very soon

I haven't checked the shipment date on the Dell web site as I don't have my order details in work with me, but Dell have finally got around to charging my debit card. Normally that wouldn't happen until until a product is ready to go out the door, so hopefully my upgrade CDs will arrive very soon.

My shipping status has gone back & forth a couple of times...it has said both July 28th and August 4th....now it's back to July 28th and they recently (within the last day) charged my Dell account for the update. I'm guessing that it will be available to ship next week based on this information.

Mad

At this point... I don't care if they ship it today or a month from now. I just hope that when it is shipped that all the bugs are worked out. My wife has the Axim 300 with PPC2003 and it has some slow delays on menu opens, jawbreaker, and media player.

I was told an update would be out soon for those of us that already have Axim with PPC2003 on them that would fix the problems.

So I just hope that the upgrade for my Axim 400 is bug free... I hate HARD RESETS!

I agree. I decided to keep my AXIM with the HOPE of Dell providing a fix. I didn't want the hassle of returning it to the Military Exchange system - although it would be easier than dealing with Dell. So far, I'm OKAY with it - The few games I play (Chess, Checkers, etc), don't suffer from the speed issues. Sometimes the refresh rate is a drag - an example would be when I use Pocket Outlook to make my next Doctor's apointment. The scenerio is usually this:
ME: Hold on, let me put it in my AXIM
Receptionist: OK, I'll wait
WIFE: "It's faster if she just hands you the damn slip! Why wait?"

. . . . . .

Doug

This is from my order status:

Although we had anticipated being able to ship your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay and we will not be able to ship you your order until 7/29/2003. You have chosen 3-5 business day shipping (ie. not weekends and holidays); therefore your expected delivery date is August 1 - August 5. We apologize for the delay. We will continue working hard to get your order to you.

I'm assuming others will start seeing the same...

Yup, I have that same message on my order that was had a delivery date of July 25-29. Now it says August 1-5.

The other two orders I have that were to deliver after July 29 have not had that message added.
