As I sit here, Dell calls up and informs me that the product I ordered (WM2003 Upgrade) is still out of stock and did I want to continue to wait for my order or cancel it. A pleasant gesture on their part, however, when I asked for her to expand upon the question, she mentioned that I may want to order the part from somewhere else....
Hmm, how is that possible when it is a "Dell" part for a "Dell" machine...
I informed her I would continue to wait...
My point of this entire thread? I've never received a call from Dell when awaiting shipment of an order, is it possible that the fix they have promised may take longer than expected?

They called me too today but there was no ID so I didn't pick it up. They left me a voicemail which said the product ship date was pushed back to july 30th. That's probably the closest thing to an ETA that we'll get.
I would much prefer to get a good piece of software a month from now than a buggy one sooner. Hopefully they are working out the degraded perfomance issue. My order @dell.com is still showing an estimated ship date of 7/25 (Ordered 6/26) But I'd rather have good than fast.
how can u tell when your order is being shipped? My orig. time of shipment was july 28, and as far as I know I haven't gotten any emails saying it was going to be delayed.

1. 10% of $300 is $30, not $3. That might be more worth your time.
2. Dell does a lousy job of predicting when something will ship. If you call, you will get whatever answer the person thinks will make you hang up fastest. (I am not intending to be mean to Dell or put them down. This is just a fact.)
3. I ordered one of the first car charges. It was delayed inumerable times. They spent more money calling me than they spent on the car charger. They never did get the delivery time even close.
