Question Compatible firewall with xp/wm2003?

Hi,

Up until i recently brought my axim i was happily using zone alarm
as a firewall but i had alot of problems with activesynch so i had to uninstall it. What i would like to know is, is there a firewall that doesnt conflict with activesynch?

cheers

There are quite a few that work .. I've used Nortons firewall with no problems but that costs ..

If you want a free solution like ZoneAlarm offers then you might want to check out Kerio Personnal Firewall .. Its free for home use ...

They are have their new Beta up if you don't mind running beta software... I've been using this for the past 2 weeks with no problems...
Some new features are enhanced packet filtering, intrusion detection system, status report and improved configuration and other general enhancements.

I also use Kerio (the normal version) and it's a great personal firewall. The only issue I have with it and ActiveSync is that I have to disable the firewall to sync with WiFi. Not something I do often, granted, but still...

Planet-Ed: is this also the case with the beta?

No its not the case .. I sync just fine with the firewall running ... The first time I ran Activesync I got a box asking if I wanted to allow the connection I selected the box to always use the rule and I selected yes to allow it.

Its never asked me again and its always synced fine.
