I was just informed by Dell that I won't be receiving my upgrade before september. Oh well, at least they will (hopefully) have time to fix most of the bugs.

my ship date was july 24 (today). Yesterday they changed it to July 31. Just got an email from Dell that it won't ship until 09/05/03

"We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to
ship
your order sooner,

we are experiencing an unexpected delay and will not be able to ship

order and

any associated orders until on or before 9/4/2003".

My original ship date was on or before 7/22. It has been changed a couple of times. Now it is showing shipping on 7/31.

OH well...i personally dont care when the upgrade comes....i got ppc 2002 and its working fine and its pretty fast for me....

so unless there are any "REAL" gains with ppc2003...i can wait.

well, the CD is one thing.....what about the patch? The patch should be released considerably sooner, right? I mean, they don't have to go through all the manufacturing stuff for the patch, just make sure it works and post it. how long does burning 20,000 upgrade CDROMs take anyway?

and the patch would probably be higher priority than the upgrade CD because it's a fix for ppl with current problems as opposed to an upgrade, right?

You would think the patch would be available first, wouldn't you? It makes sense to me. But when was the last time something Dell did made sense? ;)

Despite all the concerns expressed here & else where, I ordered a 400 MHz AXIM yesterday. Anticipated ship date is 8/14. Just FYI

I wanted both the CF & SD card slots & for <$300, I couldn't pass it up. Also, if you want to hear (read:exc: ) some griping, go visit a Toshiba forum, re: e740 support. And, the cost of a e750 is ~$600

My upgrade was part of another order that shipped on time, so when I would check the order status page, I would get "shipped items" and "unshipped items" Well, for a while, the upgrade actually disappeared from the order. Then I checked today, and here's what mine says now:

Delivery Estimate: August 1

Status as of Thursday, July 24, 2003 2:47:57 PM Central Time

1. Order Processing: Tuesday, June 24, 2003

2. Pre-production: Tuesday, June 24, 2003

4. Shipping Prep: Wednesday, July 23, 2003
