Ok...newbie question here so cut me some slack....
If 2003 IS working on other manufacturers unit which I can confirm since I have used several than why can't Dell give us a ROM with the barebones MS2003 software without their add-ons in the firmware until they correct the problem?

My 30 days are up next week and I really like theunit. Better and still faster than my palm 3xe but when I played with an Ipaq 2210 and a Toshiba e755 I was astounded at the lag in my new Ax. Now I need to decide if since I like it should I keep it and figure they will correct it through a ROM or leave me hanging so if I do have to return it I get a refurb. Any suggestions and comments on my first question would be appreciated.

MissU3, there are probably some internal differences that would prevent a barebones 2003 from running on the Axim. Maybe different internal RAM, sound, video...

As for 30 days up... that is a tough one and only you can decide. After hearing about Sept 10, it didn't make sense to wait any longer since my 30 days was up next week too. So I returned mine for a refund. If you choose to do the same, make sure to give yourself enough time to work through the Dell labyrinth to return it.... you wouldn't want a snag in the process to take you outside the 30 days. :(

Yes it is a shame... I was extremely impressed with the Axim, and if it weren't for the problem, I would've been quite pleased with it.
